I joined the Philosophy Department at the University of Lethbridge after finishing my PhD (Pitt) in 1985. My AOS is logic and philosophy of science-- Sellars' work (especially SPR, along with "Induction as Vindication", "Counterfactuals, Dispositions and the Causal Modalities" and "Scientific Realism or Irenic Instrumentalism") has had an important and continuing influence on my views. Every few years (when our teaching schedule permits) I teach a 4th year course based on Science, Perception and Reality. The picture is from 1977 or 78, in one of the Schenley Hall grad student offices.
